The Singapore Environment Council(SEC) facilitates and co-ordinates green activities across the island, working with the private sector, government and community groups to change mindsets. The vision is for a Singapore that is less wasteful of material resources, water and energy – and where nature is valued, nurtured and protected, on land and in the sea.
A non-government, non-profit organisation, with the status of an institute of public character, SEC is an independently managed body which strives to nurture, facilitate and co-ordinate environmental causes in Singapore. The Council also acts as an umbrella body for Singapore’s green groups and an unbiased intermediary between government agencies and industry, grassroots organisations and NGOs.
